After getting some much needed rain and a slight easing of the winds, we are bracing for another round of storminess Saturday into Sunday. The second wave of wind and rain will pass through the region late Saturday, kicking off another High Wind Watch, and bringing mainly mountain rain to the region (snow levels will likely be above 8,500’. Winds on Saturday will increase again in the afternoon to similar levels to what we saw Friday morning, gusting as high as 70 mph in the wind prone regions.
Rain showers will continue through Sunday into Monday morning. Temperatures will be mild, in the mid to lower 60s through Sunday, and then dropping to the 50s on Monday, as the remaining showers begin to clear out. The cooler air could drop snow levels Sunday night to below the mountain pass level, so care should be taken if you are travelling over the passes then.
Temperatures will rebound as we go through the rest of next week, back in the 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then climbing back into the mid-70s by next Friday.
