A trough of low pressure just off the Pacific Northwest coast will keep our weather a bit unsettled for the next day, giving us breezy conditions and a slight chance of showers on Tuesday, although it looks like the low will stay just shy of bringing much if any rain to the Reno area. The mountains have a slightly better chance of seeing some rain turning to snow above 8,500’.  Winds will gust to the 30s in the valley and at the lake, and could top 70 on the mountaintops. Temperatures will top out in the upper 60s in the valley.

Wednesday brings a bit of a break with partly cloudy skies, and high temperatures will climb to the 70s. On Thursday, a low comes up from the south and will have some sub-tropical moisture entrained into it. Clouds will increase, with a good chance of rain late Thursday through Friday. We get a bit of a break on Saturday (in time to sandwich in the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City) before another low pressure system comes in Sunday and Monday, bringing another chance of rain showers.
