While not as dramatic as what we saw last week, there is still some weather coming our direction this Christmas week. Tuesday will start mostly clear, but there is a relatively weak system moving into the region Tuesday night, bringing some clouds and a chance of rain or snow. It clears out pretty quickly Wednesday and things stay dry Thursday before another colder and stronger storm system comes through Friday night into Saturday morning. That storm could be cold enough to bring some snow accumulation into the valleys, but will be much stronger and wetter up in the mountains, so travel over the passes could be challenging into Christmas Eve. It looks like it will dry out on Christmas Sunday, but we do have a slight chance there will be some accumulations left over from Saturday to give us a White Christmas.

Speaking of White Christmases, many have asked me what the odds are of having one here in Reno. Obviously it depends on the year, but over time, we in the Truckee Meadows enjoy a White Christmas about 15-20% of the time.
